About Frankie Spry

portrait.JPG

Fashion (BA) graduate from the University for the Creative Arts, Epsom. Frankie has a deep-rooted devotion to the importance of clothing and how we can approach garment production in a more sustainable manner. Wearability, functionality and uniqueness are key themes in her work and she aims to design garments that consumers will love and keep for years to come. Frankie often draws inspiration from vintage pieces and military garments to create a utilitarian-cool aesthetic. Her strengths lie in fabric and colour combinations; being able to mix old and surplus fabrics along with new, often high-tech, fabrics, whilst showcasing both effectively. Historical and cultural research allows Frankie to do this proficiently and this is something which she is dedicated to.

Frankie's hardworking nature and attention to detail has been encouraged by her military career, alongside work experience with serving military tailors. She aims to create a career in fashion, working with a company with a similar design ethos. Designing her recent eight outfit collection has been a showcase of all she has learnt whilst studying fashion design. Frankie is now looking to further explore her work in design; putting into practice her newly gained skills in garment production, brand and collection cohesiveness, historical and cultural research with her knowledge of garment sustainability.
